Well, this is my website so you've come to the right place! Hi, I'm Epix and I'm the webmaster of this site, I'm just a random teenager who learnt to code lol. Anything related to the arts is something I'm passionate about, especially when it comes to drawing, writing, or animating. I've been making art ever since I could form a thought, and I've been striving for improvement ever since I was like five. (Granted, I didn't know how to improve and learned really harmful advice but it's the thought that counts.) I mostly make fanart and fanfiction as that's what makes me happiest since I love taking part in fandom and every piece of media I consume is like a brain virus that will not leave me alone!
I also love playing video games. I enjoy games with good story and lore, even if it's simple because I love making theories and headcanons. I have a lot of fun immersing myself in a whole new world. I love Sonic, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Minecraft, Tomodachi Life Fire Emblem, Danganronpa, and more. And I'm really excited to get into more games as they're becoming more and more accessible to me. Rhythm games are fun and addicting, I think I'm just in love with the idea of interactive music, so games like Project Diva, Project Sekai, Friday Night Funkin', etc. I'm also really into retro gaming, from the 3DS to arcade cabinets and everything inbetween. I'm mainly into the 3DS/DS line of consoles but not everyone thinks they're retro.
Speaaking of the 3DS/DS line, I have a strong love for the Nintendo DS and 3DS systems and they are my all-time favorite consoles! I have a Japanese misty pink original 3DS and a blue DSI and I love them both so dearly, and I got them at a great price. Something about how portable they are, the clamshell design, the dual screens, the menus, the charm, and so much more have led me to be obsessed with these consoles. I also am interested in the Wii, which I also have myself, and the Gameboy Advance, which I don't and probably won't for a while. My DSI is good enough for GBA games so I'll pick it up some other time.
I'm also getting into language learning, specifically Japanese and Somali. It's my dream to be able to speak to the majority of my very very large family since most of them only speak Somali and I would love to get to know them before y'know... times up. Especially my grandparents. And with Japanese... it's because I'm a weeb lol. There's so many untranslated animanga content that I desperately want to experience as well as form my own interpretations. And I want to read Yugioh doujins... I'll make a blogpost with more details later lol.
I made this website for many reasons, firstly as I said in the beginning of this site, I hate worrying about social media algorithms. I hate tagging and I hate feeling like I have to post certain things or at certain frequencies. I also hate how censorship and cancel culture is so rampant in modern online spaces, and I just want to like the things I like without the whole internet turning on me! Is that too much to ask for? Secondly, this relates to the first point but I want a place to be authentically myself. Posting, rambling, and doing whatever I want in my own place. Thirdly, I think websites are really cool. Both the ones made today and decades ago. It's before my time but I still love the look of "retro" sites.
